Tricia’s passion for cooking and baking has been a lifelong journey, inspired by her late grandmother and enriched through self-learning—thanks to the internet, of course. As a professional baker, she continues to refine her craft under the guidance of esteemed mentors in both cottage and commercial kitchens. Her journey includes invaluable experiences at The New Old Standard Baking Co., Stevedore Bakery, and Auspicious Bakery, where she has gained and continues to build on the skills that define her work today.

Our story

It all started as a young girl in grandmas kitchen. Inspired by the memories of rows of fresh baked pies and tins full of holiday cookies. The gathering of family and the food that bought us all together. But the journey didn’t end there, our venture into healthier baking started when our granddaughter's severe eczema pushed us to dig deeper into the connection between food and health. Watching her struggle led us to a realization: the food we eat has a huge impact on how we feel and how our bodies function. Determined to make a change, we began researching the ingredients in our everyday foods and quickly discovered how many processed additives and chemicals were contributing to her condition.

This sparked a transformation in our kitchen. We started baking with only real, organic ingredients—eliminating things like food dyes, seed oils, and artificial additives from both our breads and sweets. We even turned to sourdough for all our bread needs, as its simple, traditional method uses just flour, water, and time, with no preservatives or additives. While we know sweets aren’t exactly “health foods,” we made it our mission to make them as nourishing as possible, without sacrificing flavor.

Today, we’re proud to share our passion for baking and our treats with you, knowing they’re made with love, care, and a commitment to the best ingredients for both taste and well-being.
